Not for Profit Organization or
Individual/ Child: $25.00 per entry

CCYP will donate a portion of the proceeds to Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center

Entering allows you to participate in the fun filled race and if you win for fastest or best decorated you will get a plaque or trophy and BRAGGING rights!

Official Rules

The only materials to use for building your boat: cardboard, duct tape, adhesive, water based paint

THE SPECIFICS:

  1. Only cardboard, or corrugated cardboard may be used. Cardboard may not have any wax, resin or vinyl coating.
  2. Wood, plastic or plastic wrap, fiberglass, metal, Styrofoam or other materials that would aid in floatation or make the boat more rigid are prohibited.
  3. Duct or clear packing tape, liquid nail adhesive, and contact or rubber cement are ok.
  4. Tar, wax, Silicone, fiberglass resins, epoxy glues, staples, nails, clamps and screws are prohibited.
  5. Decorations may be made of any material but cannot help keep the boat together or afloat.
  6. Boats may be painted with a water based paint or water sealer, like Thompson’s Water Seal Stain. All paint and sealer must be dry before the boat enters the water.
  7. Only oars, paddles or wind may be used to propel the boat. Oars, paddles and sails may be made out of any material.
  8. Each boat must have at least 2 team members.
  9. All participants must wear personal flotation devices (PFDs) and shoes throughout the race. All participants will provide their own PFDs.
  10. Passengers in your boat must not be enclosed above their shoulders. All passengers must be visible while the boat is in the water.
  11. Each team must remove their entire boat and any boat remains from the water when the race is finished. A dumpster will be provided for disposal of cardboard material.

ALL BOAT PASSENGERS MUST PROVIDE AND WEAR A LIFE PRESERVER
